Executive Producer / Drummer

Colin Jones The George Michael Story

Colin Jones is the founding member of ‘The George Michael Story’. After working with other shows currently touring, Colin decided to put his own show together. He felt that his show needed to tell the actual story of George Michael’s amazing career in an accurate timeline depicting the relevance of the songs, and include anecdotes from fellow band members.

Colin didn’t want to just take a song title and make it into a tribute show, quite a tall order! The show will involve two different performers to cover George’s extensive career, touching on his personal life throughout and of course his catalogue of hits. Soon realising he couldn’t do this on his own, Colin contacted friend and fellow musician, James Crofts, to build the show in partnership.

Early Introduction To Music – Being brought up in a family always playing music Colin soon developed a passion for playing the drums and as he progressed, this developed into being involved in all aspects of putting on a show from stage managing, touring, set design, Audio Visual design, Lighting design and sound engineering. Colin has a Diploma in Music and a Degree in Technical Theatre covering set design, lighting and audio and has been a Professional Touring Musician all his life since appearing on New Faces at the age of 15. Since then he has worked across the Globe including Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Bahrain, Dubai, Africa, Ireland, Russia, Amsterdam.

Musical Career – Colin has worked with many well known artists over the years, however career nearly came to an abrupt end after a serious motorbike accident in 2004 left him we with multiple injuries, thankfully due to lots of steel pins his career resumed 3 years later when he returned to working back in the industry.

After being a George Michael fan for many years Colin can’t wait to take the show on the road and give the fans an honest and accurate depiction of George’s fabulous music.
